The second game of the first day of ABPL, held at RRMC Field #9, left many spectators in awe with an unexpected scoreline. Leander FC emerged triumphant with a commanding 10-5 win over Austin United South (AUS). Due to a shortage of players, both teams opted for an 8 vs 8 match on a smaller field, resulting in a flurry of goals from the outset.

Leander FC took full advantage of their strong lineup, featuring key players like Liton, Raihan, Zahedul, Sabbir, and Omee. On the other hand, Austin United South had to cope with the absence of some of their top performers, including Sahil, Abu Sohel, and Rizwan. As the match commenced, Leander wasted no time in finding the back of the net, capitalizing on South Austin United’s initial struggles to settle into their game.

Liton and Raihan led the charge for Leander, each netting a brace, while their team dominated the first half, amassing a commanding 6-0 lead before the break. However, the second half showcased an entirely different side of Austin United South. Sabbir Jr and Shafiur spearheaded their team’s comeback, rapidly finding the back of the net. Despite South Austin’s efforts, Leander remained relentless, with Raihan completing his hat-trick and Sabbir and Omee continuing their scoring spree.

While Austin United South managed to find the back of the net five times in the second half, it proved insufficient as Leander added four more goals to their tally, securing a comfortable 10-5 victory. Looking ahead, Leander FC is set to face Round Rock Pflugerville (RRP) FC in their upcoming match next Sunday, while Austin United South will go head-to-head against Austin Arsenal.

The ABPL season opener provided a thrilling display of skill, determination, and goal-scoring prowess, setting the stage for an exciting and fiercely competitive season ahead. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from ABPL!
