ABPL or Austin BD-Soccer Premier League is nothing but a new initiative take by Austin’s Bangladeshi Community’s soccer loving amateur/recreational soccer players of Austin. It is a friendly-competitive social soccer league for Austin’s Bangladeshi community players.
Recently, Austin has seen a major growth of Bangladeshis and the soccer playing community has seen an increase in the number of amateur/recreational soccer players. In the past, most players played soccer once or twice a week in different parts of the city but most popular is the Sunday soccer at Williamson County soccer field. Last year, during summer, every Sunday too many players showed up to play Sunday soccer and as a result, most players found it difficult to play a regular soccer game. During the end of 2021 seasons, some of the players thought it would be a good idea to introduce a soccer league with 4 teams. This is how the idea of soccer league first came up.
